DAY 5: FRIDAY 18/01/13

Friday began with a late start, so late that we missed breakfast. The late rising was guiltfree though considering our alarms had been set for 8.30am since our arrival. The tradeshows were all out of the way and it was time to catch up on some sleep before heading out to become a typical tourist in Berlin. We wandered towards Alexander Platz with the intention of stopping in one of the gorgeous cafes we had seen along the streets on Monday's exploration. One in particular had imprinted itself in our brains when we had passed it before for showcasing some beautiful bread. We managed to find it again, and it very much lived up to our expectations, serving amazing brioche and paninis which seemed to instantly revive us all.

Surprisingly, there didn't seem to be great examples of visual merchandising when we were were walking out and about around the shops, which for a capital city, was quite disappointing.

If you look closely, it is possible to see the unusual feature of this changing room in 'Weekend'. There is a pane of glass missing horizontally towards the top, and this is repeated on the back side of the changing room, through to the other side of cubicles, which make it a very interesting try on session!
Espirit go for a rustic feel.

Graffiti brightening up the concrete grey landscape.

Animal takeover: Interesting heads replacing mannequins.

Super high platform shoes.

We ended our last evening with a filling meal at a typical German restaurant, around an area that Becca and I discovered the day before on our ramblings. Situated underneath a railway bridge, the restaurant embraced the alcoves that shaped its ceiling, with a war time theme in terms of decor. I went for the schnitzel, it had to be done on the last night, and we retired to the hostel to pack up our things ready for check out at 10am Saturday.

Ellie and I enjoying our final meal of the trip.
